Request a Session
Request a customized workshop that will cover in-depth information, skills, and resources around safe intervention. Sessions are available for student organizations, groups, residence halls, and for faculty and staff as well. Please email Hannah Dean directly at Deanh@wfu.edu with the email subject “Bystander Intervention Request:”
Approximately 1 hour: Facilitated primarily by Wellbeing Ambassadors (trained Peer Educators), this interactive workshop breaks down what bystander intervention is, the 5 D’s, pyramid of harm, and allows for time to practice.
Approximately 30-45 minutes: Interactive workshop for students who have recently gone through bystander intervention training, this provides an opportunity to review learned skills and spend more time walking through scenarios. Historically has been used during classes.
Approximately 1 hour: Interactive workshop for students who already have a basic understanding of bystander intervention skills to deep dive into types of bias and discrimination and how to intervene when coming face to face with it. This can be adapted for specific student organizations with a 2-week notice.
