Being an accountable bystander to help maintain the health and safety of the Wake Forest University campus community is very important for all students, faculty, and staff.

Bystander Intervention training is provided to all incoming first-year students through Extended Orientation. The training is specifically crafted for Wake Forest students based on evidence-based curriculums and is one of many initiatives implemented campus-wide to create a culture of social responsibility and caring among Demon Deacons.

What does it mean to be a Demon Deacon?

An Active Bystander: A person who observes a problem, or potential problem, conflict or an unacceptable behavior, and has the ability to influence the outcome of the situation.
